I oppose the violation and support the Strite’s appeal.
I have spent time at a neighboring property and have witnessed the auditory and visual effects of the alleged commercial trucks at the Strites property, and from all I can tell, the impact is minimal. Frankly, motorcycles, diesel pickup trucks, farm vehicles, and even wild life are more disruptive than the Strite’s activity. From my standpoint, Frederick’s “over the road trucker allowance” policy seems poorly defined and should be applied leniently to allow respectful operators to park more than one vehicle on their ra zoned properties.
From a practical policy perspective, I understand that zoning has to keep neighbors from adversely affecting each other. But it is also a real shame to see people move to rural areas and then try to control their neighbors property use (especially when the neighbors already appear to take pains to operate respectfully). If people desire control over what vehicles your neighbors own, I suggest they consider moving to a property with restrictive HOAs. The Strite’s activity shouldn’t be bothersome in an RA district and zoning restrictions should not be applied against them.

I live directly across the street from Dean Strite at 878 Old Baltimore Road. I strongly oppose the the violation. Dean and Cynthia are great neighbors. Their property is always clean and well maintained. There are many days when only one truck is present. His trucks are very clean, and professional maintained. I don't hear loud noise coming from his property, anymore than other neighbors using a chainsaw, or mowing the grass. I strongly support Mr Strite's ability to keep his trucks at his property.
We are the closest proximity neighbor to the Strites on old Baltimore rd. We live at 837 Old Baltimore rd and have lived here the last 4 years. There has never been any issues of noise or business use of the property in the time that we have lived here. Any noise complaints about Mr Strites tractor trailer would be hard to justify if they didn’t come from us because are properties are located right next to each other which in the documents on the appeal has been missed. We were not listed as adjacent or notified on the hearing. Dean and his family are good neighbors and do not cause any issues, noise or other, in the neighborhood. I strongly oppose this code violation and support Mr. Strite to be able to park his truck at his home as he always has since we have lived here.
