I am a Frederick County resident in the Stonewall district. I am in complete support of Eli Williams event center. Eli has transformed an aged property into an attractive property that serves as home and business for Eli, not to mention an increased property value for surrounding residents. Frederick County is need of the availability of multiple event venues with the increasing growth of the county. As a mom who recently planned a wedding for her daughter, I wish I had more venues to choose from. This event center would be a great asset to Frederick County and could provide additional revenue to Winchester/Frederick County as traveling guests will utilize local restaurants, sleeping accommodations and tourist attractions. Please consider Eli’s event center as an approved venue.

I am familiar with the subject property where Eli Williams intends to have a venue, and I would like to submit my public comment supporting this endeavor. I have watched as Eli has converted this property from a place with falling down, dilapidated structures to a beautiful property with a restored home, barn, and outbuildings. Eli has invested a small fortune in restoring this property. In the process, he has not only improved the value of his property but also increased the value of the surrounding property owners. This beautiful piece of landscape is ideally suited for this type of venue, and I am confident that Eli will manage it with the utmost professionalism and integrity.

Please reconsider this year's Personal Property tax increases based on used-car valuations, perhaps by continuing to use last year's valuations. My 10-year-old vehicle supposedly increased 72% in value which results in my assessed personal property tax increasing by almost 50%. What is the rational basis for such significant increases which I anticipate will impose an undue hardship on many low-income wage earners and on retirees attempting to manage on Social Security and/or fixed incomes during this period of rampant inflation? (I am a resident of the Gainesboro District.)
