10) Committee Business - Transportation Committee
10.A) The Committee recommends that the Board authorize staff to apply for a grant under the Safe Streets and Roads for all programs.

10.B) The Committee recommends that the Board adopt the Resolution for Regional SmartScale applications and authorize staff to commit a 20% local match to each of the four Frederick County SmartScale applications with the cost estimate of local contributions being up to $11 million and with matching funds being allocated in future budgets.

10.C) The Committee recommends the utilization of County transportation budgeted funds on three (3) proposed studies as follows, noting that these are rough estimates and that final numbers will be provided to the Board prior to executing agreements with consultants. Funds are recommended to come from budgeted transportation funds for the coming fiscal year: 1-Route 522/Gainesboro Road Signal Justification Report (For main entrance to Frederick County Middle School and Gainesboro Elementary School) in the estimated amount of $50,000-$75,000; 2-Route 37 Comprehensive Phasing and Feasibility Study for an extensive study to conduct demand modeling and analysis, evaluate constructability/feasibility of segments, identify segments of independent utility, and review and restate the purpose and needs of the proposed roadway in the estimated amount of $250,000; 3- Route 37, Route 7 to Route 11; 30% design and environmental update of a two (2) lane section of the Board adopted top priority segment in the estimated amount of $100,000.
