    2 spaces per townhome is plenty, possibly more than within reason. Frederick County's population is expanding by more than 16% each year and we need higher density housing. This change would promote lower density townhomes and make it more difficult and expensive to build affordable housing.

    These townhouses are useful because they're medium density. They provide a great opportunity for the lower middle class to purchase a home at a more reasonable price. Jacking up the price by increasing the space requirements encourages builders to seek to make fewer affordable townhomes and more luxury townhomes. Frederick County doesn't need that- we need high-density affordable housing and we need to keep the prices from going up faster than the rate of inflation.
