I support this business, but with safety concerns for nearby residents.
Town Run Lane extends south alongside a newish 200+ home neighborhood, called Southern Hills. That portion of Town Run Lane is narrow at places, and has no curbs or pull-over room along some other stretches. The southern part of Town Ru Lane also has a long-standing issue with speeding motorists. The posted speed limit is 25MPH, but drivers often travel at twice that speed. Because of these road characteristics, I am worried about the change in traffic this business will bring.
The FCSO has supported us when we call in for traffic concerns. But we are a bit out-of-the-way for constant patrols, and I realize they can only do so much to curb dangerous drivers. With the increased traffic on our road, I fear there may be more vehicular accidents, and possibly more danger to the residents who live ON Town Run lane.
So in allowing this business to enter our region, I wonder if the BoS and other entities could analyze the traffic impact. Study the roadways and look for safety improvements. Make sure that the roads are wide enough to afford large landscaping trucks. Determine if any additional measures, like speed calming humps or roundabouts or other deterrents might be added to ensure the safety of the residents.
Thanks for your consideration.
