    Back creek district
Eukarya Christian Academy serves the families of Frederick County. The purchase of the old Aylor Middle School will allow them to continue the work of supporting families and educating students of our community. I support the Board’s acceptance of this bid.

My children started attending Eukarya Christian Academy 1 year ago and have greatly benefited from the small class sizes and the attentive and caring staff. The culture of Eukarya is a supportive, family-like culture. Their ability to taylor each student’s education to develop and work with their individual strengths and weaknesses is priceless. We have tried public school, homeschool, and other private schools and we finally feel like we have found the right fit for us. We would love to see Eukarya’s services be able to be offered to more families in the area by obtaining more space to facilitate this unique educational experience to those that could benefit from it as well as expand on the electives and variety of educational experiences they can offer the current families. Thank you for your consideration of this bid. I encourage you to vote yes and believe that Eukarya will become a positive contributor to the quality education and well being of the children and families in the area.

Receive the bid from RCS Investments that will turn the old Aylor Middle School into the new home for the Eukarya Family Center (daycare, school, and counseling center). What better way to invest in the real needs of families in Stephens City! We need this!

I would encourage Supervisors to close the matter of the Aylor property this month with an AFFIRMATIVE vote to accept the RCS Investments bid.

The longer this building remains vacant, the more it attracts criminal activity and the larger a liability it becomes. Even empty buildings cost money for the county. For the sake of the county and the neighborhood, it is wonderful that you have found a bidder who is willing (and financially positioned) to purchase it -- and ready to take immediate possession to begin improvements. This bid does not add to the school spending deficit of the county (as houses would) and does not overload the neighborhood with more retail/ commercial congestion. This bid is the only bid. This bid is a timely opportunity for the county to get this liability off its books.

But more than the "accounting" that must be considered, we know that the Supervisors must consider the long-term benefits to the county. So how wonderful, also, that the bidder is aligned with the original educational and community purposes of the building! We believe that growth opportunities for the Eukarya Family Center WILL bless the wider community -- with school choice options, with pre-school services, with supplemental educational and counseling supports, with sports and extra-curricular opportunities, and with preserved green space for residents to enjoy. I look forward to seeing how the building and location will help Eukarya "be good neighbors" to the folks surrounding them in Stephens City and Frederick County.

I support the sale of 901 Aylor Road to RCS/Eukarya for the purposes of keeping Aylor a school! A vote YES on this sale is a vote for school choice and we need more choices! We have many empty commercial properties that can be used for commercial/retail, and we do not have the public infrastructure (e.g. schools) to build more residential in that area. Eukarya is willing to make the improvements necessary to make this operational - selling this building to them is a perfect way to use this already existing building.
