We have to fight climate change, and solar and wind energies are perfect ways to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels.
I love my rural home like many others in Frederick County, and I hope that we can make careful plans that balance the needs of our rural way of life with progress for cleaner energy. I truly hope that these panels generate power for the people of Frederick County so we can feel invested and first hand see the benefits of clean energy.
Are there solar ordinances in place to protect the citizens of Frederick County? (height and setback requirements in the zoning district? (is it in compliance with any provisions pertaining to any local historic, architectural preservation?) If not, I am opposed to this until there are regulations in place to protect the community.
We hope this finds you well. We are writing to thank you for your service to our community as well as the opportunity you are affording us as agricultural land holders in a rural area district of the County.
More than a decade ago, our family pursued the only option available to us in adding value to our land: an engineered 5 acre development, Carrollton Estates. As you are aware, we have now been offered another option: Solar Energy instead of 65 rooftops. We are asking for your support of Conditional Use Permit #05-20 for Bartonsville Energy Facility, LLC as we believe:
It will provide less burden on county services such as fire/rescue and education
It will keep traffic to a minimum as opposed to that related to a residential development
There will be no current need for wells/septic
It will maintain a peaceful, quiet environment for our neighbors
It will promote the use of clean energy
Again, we wish to thank you for this opportunity. If you would like to discuss with us further, please contact us as noted below.
