I live in back Creek District and oppose any and all data centers being built in Frederick County until the year 2050. There are too many unknowns regarding power usage, water usage and long-term environmental impact to make moving in this direction at this point in time they sound decision. Thank you.

I am a resident of Winchester City. I oppose the approval of the conditional Use permit #03-26 for Winchester Gateway LLC. It is time to really think about how we want to grow as a county and manage the growth in a way that supports conservation of our resources, not just tearing down and building massive industrial structures.

I have been a citizen of Frederick County for 51 years. I’ve watched this county grow, change, and develop, but there comes a point when we have to ask ourselves: What are we willing to sacrifice for growth?
I am strongly opposed to the continued push for data centers in our county.
We need to preserve what makes Frederick County Frederick County — our farms, our woodlands, our open spaces, and the character of the communities we call home.
We already have infrastructure issues that need attention. Our roads, traffic, utilities, and existing services need to keep up with the development we already have. Do we really need to add massive data centers that will place even more demands on our water, electricity, roads, and other resources?
And what about the people who already live here?
We shouldn't have to accept constant industrial noise, enormous buildings, loss of farmland and woodland, increased development, and the potential impact on our property values simply because someone decided our county is the next place to build.
There is a difference between responsible growth and building until there is nothing left to preserve.
I want our elected officials to focus on the infrastructure problems we already have and protect the land, resources, and quality of life of the people who live here.
I will be paying very close attention to how our elected officials vote on data centers. And I will remember those votes when it is time to vote.
After 51 years here, I believe Frederick County is worth protecting.
Enough is enough. Let's preserve Frederick County before we build away everything that makes it special.
If you want, I can also make this even more hard-hitting and Facebook-comment-section ready, with shorter paragraphs and a stronger opening line.
