I want to thank the Board of Supervisors for considering a partnership with the 2 for 2 Foundation. As a long time member of the community and the owner of a current learn-to-swim school, I see, first hand, the need for such a partnership so we can give the residents of Frederick County and bordering areas an aquatics facility that is MUCH needed. Thank you again for taking the time to hear us out.

We are beyond in need of a new pool for our community and our athletes. My children are still to young to be on swim, but I look forward to the day they can be on a team and hope they have a sustainable, healthy, clean pool to participate in and grow up working for.

As a resident of Frederick County, I fully support the board of supervisors partnering with the 2 for 2 foundation to make an aquatic center possible for current and future generations. A facility such as this would benefit our community in so many ways! Thank you for your support of this organization and great cause!

I’ve traveled to aquatic centers in Manassas, Warrenton, Loundon as well as those further away. I’ve eaten at restaurants and stayed at hotels in towns that aren’t as populated as ours. An aquatics center would bring in revenue as well as being a draw for tourist. This would be a boon to our area.

I support the partnership between the Board of Supervisors and the 2 for 2 Foundation to provide a much needed aquatic center for our community. Currently Frederick County has no indoor pool facility. The surrounding city and counties facilities cannot support our swimming needs.

I support the Board of Supervisors in partnering with 2 for2 foundation to make the aquatics center and ice skating rink a reality. the current area year round swim teams have to travel at least 1 hour to 1.5 hours for swim meets throughout the year. It would be nice to have a facility that could host other teams that travel here for meets. The high school swim teams would also benefit greatly in using a modern facility for both practices and local high school meets.

I support the 2 for 2 Foundation in its advocacy for a community aquatic and ice-skating center, and I strongly encourage the Frederick County supervisors to contact their fellow supervisors in Clarke County about a possible two-county partnership to make this much-needed facility a reality. As I note in my book Splash: 10,000 Years of Swimming, the sport of swimming has long been celebrated for its character-building qualities, and the need for swimming education has never been greater in my lifetime.

Good evening, my name is Janion Ubert and I reside in the Shawnee District. I would like to thank the Board of Supervisors for seriously considering the private/public partnership with the 2 for 2 foundation. Our county has experienced rapid growth over the past few years and we are in desperate need of new recreational facilities. These facilities are needed for young and old, for those with disabilities, for our sports teams, and for those who are needing therapeutic exercise options. Our current indoor aquatic facilities are falling way short of the needs of our community. Air quality is often a problem and limited availability is always a problem.
Thank you once again for your serious consideration.

Please make our community a healthy place to live by investing in this aquatic/ice facility! Research supports that pools make communities healthier, happier, safer...and increase business. Note the book Splash, by Howard Means.
